Central, located in Alexander City, posted an opening round team score of 277, giving it a six-shot lead over second place Meridian (Miss.). 

Walters State (Tenn.) was third at 286 while John A. Logan (Ill.) was fourth at 287. 
Darton College (Ga.) and Red Lake (Ill.) were tied for fifth at 291.

Logan Lady Vols at WVC's Paul Schnarre Field. 


The games were the Great Rivers Athletic Conference openers for WVC, which is now 2-0 in the league. 


WVC took the opener, 4-3, then won the second game, 1-0.

John Logan said in Court of Queen's Bench this week that under the terms of the loan guarantees to the Atcon Group the government will pay Scotiabank by the end of the week and then look to seek repayment from the company as a creditor. 


Atcon owes creditors about $250 million with about $99 million of that owed to Scotiabank.

Marco DiRoma hit a two-run homer in the first inning of game one, and the Volunteers went on to an 8-0 and 10-5 sweep of the two games.

John Logan told a court in Miramichi Monday that under the terms of a loan guarantee to Atcon, the government will pay the bank as early as this week.
